Sparkle Sprite
She has a style of her own and it always includes accessories!
I finally got the pumpkin candy holder away from her this week but only because she has now latched on to these angel wings.
We had so much fun tonight. We went on an errand to the mall and she was thrilled to see the giant outdoor Christmas tree and ride the little train around. She was given a little pair of paper reindeer antlers which I know she will wear until they fall apart. Over our pizza dinner Abbey reached over and patted me on the arm and said "I love you" 3x! She has said those words many times, at bedtime or in response to me saying them to her, but this was her first "out of the blue" utterance and my heart soared like it did the first time she said Mama. After dinner it "snowed" all around the giant tree and she was completely in awe. I couldn't help crying, it's so wonderful seeing her delight in each little treat of the season. She loves every light and ornament and has been practicing her snow angels on the carpet and singing about baby Jesus lying in the hay. She more than I could have ever dreamed of.

Watching them get excited over something we consider "small" is the best! It's hard to put into words how wonderful it is to watch them. If only we (as adults) could let go of everything and feel the same way more often. (I know I wish I could)
Glad to hear everything's going great!

I agree with Brandi -- seeing the world fresh again through the eyes of our children is one of the best parts of being a parent.
And I believe my mom had those wooden shoes hanging in our kitchen in 1968 -- how did Miss Abbey get them???

BTW - what mall were you at where it snowed? Sounds like a phenomenal sight!
Love you both!

I've got to agree...
Katie's out-of-the-blue "I Lub Ooo Mama" is the absolute best. I don't think it gets much better than that!
What a wonderful holiday season you're going to have this year -- you get to experience Christmas through the eyes of a 2 1/2 year old -- how much fun is THAT?!

I can't wait to hear those words from maddy. Just this week I've been hearing "Mama".
We are also experiencing Christmas through the eyes of a child who has never seen such a thing before. Helps in reminding us (and everyone else) the TRUE reason for the season.
Blessings

I know how it feels when a little one tells you they love you. They learn how to do this when we express our love in words to them often and out of the blue. I tell Abbey I love her and she tells me back--boy, ask me if I love that--yeah, Baby! She is doing so well under your care! She is thriving--I now know what that means! Lots of Love and Prayers!
