Words of the Week

Well, once again Ms Abbey is ready for more than I thought she was. Bible lessons here we go! I do my Bible study when Abbey is asleep. I am sure the reasons for that are self evident. I quit taking my Bible to church because of my tendonitis and the diaper bag, etc. I just use one of the extra's they keep there. The other day when Abbey woke up from her nap I still had my Bible out on the sofa. She came over and touched it and I said, "Mama's Bible." She ran and found this little Bible with the handle and brought it to me and said, "Bible." Now I don't remember ever telling her about Bibles before and I haven't ever read this book to her, but we have flipped through the pages once or twice. She has more board books than I have ever known of one child to have and I just have no idea how she knew this one was a Bible. At church she just plays in the nursery. I asked her daycare if they had talked about Bibles and they hadn't. Where does she get these things? I guess once again she is ready for more than I realize, so Bibles it will be.
Thanks to the birthday parties of some sweet friends she is starting to sing Happy Birthday and really get into the whole party idea.
Today she announced, "I poo-poo", and it was true, she did. I had just told the doctor I didn't want to start potty training because she didn't have enough language.
Her favorite new word is "why?" which she uses over and over throughout the day anytime I say no to something or redirect her. It is said very impassionately and usually three times in a row with dramatic inflections. She doesn't care for the reasons I give her so she just asks why again and again.
My favorite thing to hear from her is "My I know my" for the "Now I know my" part of the ABC song (that is the only part she can really sing). It is so cute. She is really into A for Abbey and always says that any marks she makes on paper are A's with lots of concentration.

Emma has this Bible too and loves it. She's in Sunday School now (as opposed to the nursery) and is really getting into it and learning a lot, which really makes me happy!

Chloe has this Bible, too! Such a sweet story. (And I think we have just about one of every board book that there is...so I know what you're talking about--lol!)

wow she is just on a huge growth spurt- she is doing so well with her language and understanding, everything.
It never ceases to amaze me how much they know and "get".
    Wonderful little blessings.
T is so similar but not quite as advanced just yet- but she is getting the party thing too.
    Can't wait to play again.
    K.x

It's amazing what a brain can do--just soak up all sorts of info and then find the perfect time to spit it out and amaze the Mama! She sure is a smart little girl who knows when she wants to jump across a river and not get left behind! Lots of Love to both of you! With tons of prayers, too!
