See the tiny specks at the very bottom of the hill on the left? Those are the tour buses. I can't tell you how high up we were! It was such a perfect metaphor for this whole process of adopting Abbey. As the Chinese would say, "The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." It felt so good to finally reach the end. It really gets to the point where you have to crawl up a tunnel at the end, but there is no way you will stop even if you do have to crawl.
We found out that we won't get the babies until Tuesday. We will be able to shop for diapers, formula, and strollers on Monday. We are traveling with a wonderful group of people. We have a 5:00 a.m. wake up call tomorrow, breakfast at 6:00 a.m. and leaving at 6:30 a.m. to fly to Guangzhou so I need to go now.
We bought silk kites for Abbey's room today!

Sure glad you are enjoying China! I miss it sometimes and seeing you there just brings back memories.
The vendors across from the White Swan will loan you a stroller for the entire time you are there. However, if you want a stroller for the trip home, then they are inexpensive there.

It's so wonderful to see you in China on the Great Wall! Congratulations on completing that climb, which seems like a metaphor for this journey to your daughter. You reached the top, and it'll happen again on Tuesday when you get Abbey. Can't wait to see the photos!!

You look so vibrant and at peace in your surroundings...so happy for you.
P.S. I was on my treadmill this a.m. and my exact thoughts were I must walk at an incline so I can build up my stamina for the Great Wall, and it looks like I'll need it.
Godspeed to your sweet delight!

Wow! What a beautiful photo. When we adopted our first time we went through Hong Kong, so we didn't get to see the wall. We are paper chasing for Mei Mei, and are determined to see the wall the second time around. Congratulations, and thanks for letting me pop over to your blog.
