Confirmation

After the uplifting news this morning I felt that I had the strength to take another step of faith and mail Abbey's care package. I went to the post office and when I got to the counter the clerk looked at my Chinese label and said, "Do you know someone that lives here?" I explained that it was an orphanage and that I was adopting a child living there and she said, "Well I am from there, my town is 30 minutes away from there." We were both shocked. This is an orphange 3 1/2 hours from Guangzhou, very far out near the South China Sea. She went on to tell me about the town and about how lucky my daughter is to come here and how wonderful it will be for her here. I just felt it was another sign that I am on the right path and that this really is my daughter. I bought this little panda bear there that has a little postal stamp on his chest. I am so encouraged.

WOW! Now that was a Godincidence, if I've ever heard one! One day a few years ago during our russian adoption to our son, things like this were happening. It is pretty incredible, and you know the Lord is right there ahead of you!

Christi, follow your heart and look forward to a wonderful life with your new daughter. There may be times that are emotionally difficult if she does have to go through medical issues, but you will have a world of support behind you, and I can tell you from personal experience that life really will be good, regardless of the medical complications...

    Christi-
Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us. I admire you for holding on.
I am a single mother (to a 5 year old boy) and I am not going to say it's easy...but I AM going to say that if you have love in your heart and energy to burn - you can be the shining star in someones life - your daughter.
Motherhood is soooo the best job in the world. The trials and tribulations are so minor when compared to the joys!I wish the best of luck as you continue your journey!

God is again showing you how very BIG He is - what a beautiful confirmation. And the panda - how perfect! When Abbey is old enough to hear and understand her story and journey and how God's loving arms were around her at every step, just think of the love and assurance she will feel from that...wow!

    Christy,
Your story is an inspiration to me. You and your daughter are both so lucky to have each other. Hopefully you will come home from China, take her to the Doctor, where they will be surprised at her speedy improvements.
