Preparations

Twenty-two days until I get a very brief medical report on my daughter. I will be getting it to her pediatrician immediately. He will be prescribing several medicines for me to take to China for her. To get ready for travel last year I got the Hep A & B series, and boosters for MMR and Tetanus. On Monday I had a titers done for polio and had my blood type checked since I had forgotten it and I should have that information in China. I was given a pack of syringes and needles (in some parts of China they reuse them, as well as tongue depressors and everything else). I also got perscriptions for ZPack, Cipro, and Flagyl. I brought my Dr. a letter from Dr. Jane Leidtke of
Our Chinese Daughters Foundation. The letter is in the files section of the Ask Jane in China yahoo group, which I highly recommend. I had hightlighted key points for my doctor, but she read everything. The OCDF website also has a wealth of travel information on their Tours website.
Now on to more fun things. This is Abbey's closet which has been stuffed with gifts from so many wonderful people. I think about Abbey being in an orphanage with nothing that is "hers", all the clothing and toys are communal. I get so excited preparing and laying up all these treasures for her and it so reminds me of God's heart.
